Marques Brownlee Voices Concern Over AI Company Using His Likeness Without Permission Marques Brownlee Voices Concern Over AI Company Using His Likeness Without Permission

Tech influencer Marques Brownlee recently criticized an AI company, named “Agent Gold,” for utilizing his likeness without consent. Brownlee expressed his discontent on social media, emphasizing the lack of permission granted for using his image.

Unauthorized Use: The AI company, known as “Agent Gold,” launched its “first product: the AI chatbots of all your favorite YouTubers” on Product Hunt, a platform for discovering and sharing new products, earlier this year.

Brownlee remarked on the company’s lack of consent in using his likeness, calling the AI chatbot “incredibly bad” and accusing it of “spewing lies.” He cautioned against engaging with the product, labeling it as “TRASH.”

Several other popular YouTubers, including Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast), Lex Fridman, Lilly Singh, and Dianna Cowern (Physics Girl), were also featured on the chatbot platform without consent.

According to Brownlee, while he doesn’t mind the AI platform using his videos for training the chatbot, the unauthorized use of his “likeness” is the primary cause for concern. He insisted that companies should refrain from using his real name for promotional purposes without permission.

Brownlee cited Meta AI’s approach, which featured MrBeast’s image but used pseudonyms “Zach” and “The Funny Man” to respect the individual’s likeness and identity.

At the time of reporting, Agent Gold had not responded to a request for comment from Benzinga.
